The \\Habitat~G project is our vision for a socially and ecologically sustainable living community in Konstanz. Together, we aim to create a diverse, inclusive, and affordable place where people from different ages, backgrounds, and social groups can live and thrive.

At the core of our project is the commitment to providing speculation-free, affordable housing. We prioritize space efficiency and sustainability, designing homes that are flexible and adaptable to different needs. Our buildings will feature shared balconies, "Joker" rooms for communal use, rooftop gardens, and innovative green technologies like solar panels and energy-efficient materials. We will use sustainable building methods, including wood construction and upcycling of existing structures, to reduce our environmental footprint.

In addition to housing, we are creating shared spaces that will foster a strong sense of community. Our public café will serve as a hub for social interaction, hosting activities such as repair cafés, clothing swaps, and other initiatives to support sustainability and neighborly connections. Common areas like rooftop gardens, communal kitchens, and coworking spaces will provide places for us to meet, work, and relax together, reducing isolation and encouraging collaboration.

Our community will be governed democratically, with everyone having a say in important decisions. We believe in a consent-based decision-making process that ensures all voices are heard. To keep our community thriving, we are all committed to contributing our time and skills through mandatory work hours, whether by managing services, assisting in the café, or helping with maintenance.

Inclusivity is key to our vision. We are designing our spaces to accommodate people with disabilities, and we will establish an assisted living group home within the community to provide extra support where it’s needed.
